Welcome to the Lake Hatcher Retreat! This is a beautiful new home that is literally steps away from the lake, off the back porch, with awesome lake views out of the master & family room windows.
Like to fish? To fish Lake Hatcher or use the community rec center you’ll just need a sponsor letter from us, Pagosa Central ~ we can help you with that! You can fish, canoe, paddle board or float the lake, but no swimming. Please remember a permit is needed to fish.
Do you mountain bike? You can ride your bike from the house to 2 different trails located in the beautiful San Juan National forest! The Turkey Springs trailhead is on the left side of Piedra road & has 30+ miles of easy (green), family-friendly singletrack! The homeowner is a prior cat 1 mountain bike racer & highly recommends both Turkey Springs & Coyote Hill. The Coyote Hill trailhead is located right across the street from Turkey Springs & both are about a 5 minute bike ride from the house.
Prefer to hike? You can walk to either of the trailheads mentioned above. Coyote Hill has the most amazing mountain & valley views, while Turkey Springs immerses you in the forest for a completely different experience. It’s great exercise & the views will leave you with lasting memories of your Pagosa Springs vacation!
Are you coming to ski Wolf Creek or soak in the world famous Pagosa Hot Springs? This home is located 6 miles up Piedra Road, just off of highway 160, so it’s a short 10 minute ride to get into town for soaking in the hot springs, souvenir shopping, dining out or to get to City Market or Walmart for the supplies you want to have at the house. Wolf Creek ski area is just 33 miles from the house and Arboles, with access to Navajo Reservoir, is 38 miles away!

Like to cook? Cooking here is a delight and is sure to make some awesome family memories! And don’t forget your coffee! This home offers a brand new, programmable Cuisinart coffee maker and a new Keurig K-cafe special edition machine, that has a froth maker attached that allows you to make amazing lattes if you want, or you can simply brew your normal pod! There is a panini maker, a quesadilla maker, a waffle maker, a Nutri-bullet and regular blender if you want to try making something new!
The granite kitchen island is huge & offers a nice place to prep your meal, and a place for family & friends to gather while you cook. There are 2 bar stools at the island and the dining room table has 4 chairs and a bench, so you can easily sit 6 adults at the table, or 4 adults & 3 or 4 kiddos ( on the bench) at the dining room table.
The back deck has views of Lake Hatcher and the San Juan mountains, & next summer there will be patio furniture and a wood pellet Rec Tec grill. Like to have a campfire in the evening? There is a chiminea for your use off the back deck, with beautiful Lake Hatcher views behind it. Firewood is not provided, but can be purchased at many places, including the Speedway at the corner of Highway 160 & Piedra, that you’ll pass on your way home.
Now that the colder weather is here you’ll be glad to know the home offers a gas log fireplace in the family room & is very well insulated, meaning it gets warm & stays warm easily. The home is not air-conditioned, but that’s not usually a problem in the CO mountains, because there are ceiling fans everywhere in this home and you really just need to open a window to allow the cool outside air in!
